Professional photography for your next family reunion | Mornington Peninsula Family Photography

Coronavirus has taught me a little of something.

I’m lucky enough to have my family close. Normally. But in the past few weeks of lockdown, most of us have been unable to be with our family members as liberally as we’re used to. And I’m really missing that contact with them. If anything good comes out of this situation, let it be a reminder of the importance of family.

So imagine what it must be like for people who have family in other parts of the country or even the world. This would be their reality, and not something to put up with for a few weeks. I can now start to get a glimpse of how that separation must feel.

It’s always been my privilege to photograph families. And we have a good number of families that holiday on the Mornington Peninsula. But when a family is separated by distance, and are only able to come together once a year or even less, it’s a very precious time.

Thinking ahead and booking a photo session is such a great way to preserve those special memories.

This family came from South Africa to holiday on our beautiful little part of the world, but more importantly, they came to see their daughter, son-in-law and special little grandchild, (who was clearly the star of the show).

A special time indeed, given that he’ll have grown so much in the time it takes before they can see him again.

But for now, they’ll be taking their memories of this time together home.

My love of photography grew from wanting to capture as much of my travels and children's childhood as possible, and it is something that I have been loving for most of my life.
